چکیده

Abstract Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is one of the most common and deadly diseases. In our previous comprehensive genomics study, we found that family with sequence similarity 135 member B (FAM135B) was a novel cancer-related gene, yet its biological functions molecular mechanisms remain unclear. this demonstrate protein levels FAM135B are significantly higher in ESCC tissues than precancerous tissues, high expression correlates poorer clinical prognosis. Ectopic promoted proliferation vitro vivo, likely through direct interaction growth factor GRN, thus forming feedforward loop AKT/mTOR signaling. Patients overexpression both GRN had worse prognosis; multivariate Cox model analysis indicated an independent prognostic for patients ESCC. transgenic mice bore heavier tumor burden wild-type survived relatively shorter lifespan after 4-nitroquinoline 1-oxide treatment. addition, serum level mice, suggesting might provide diagnostic discrimination These findings suggest between plays critical roles regulation progression be potential therapeutic targets factors Significance: investigate promoting new biomarkers

Role of Brg1 in progression of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Objective(s): Epigenetic regulation of gene expression can be carried out through chromatin remodeling enzymes such as SWI/SNF. Brg1 also known as SMARCA4 is a catalytic subunit of SWI/SNF, which is necessary for MMPs expression. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are known as important player enzymes during tumor progression and metastasis. Aberrant epigenetic modification of chromatin should be...

TELOMERASEACTIVITYIN IRANIAN PATIENTS WITH ESOPHAGEAL SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA

Telomerase activation is one of the main pathways to immortalize cancer cells. In many kinds of cancer cells, this special reverse transcriptase stabilizes and elongates telomeres and prevents telomere erosion that naturally occurs in every cell division. Esophageal cancer is the fifth most frequent cause of cancer death worldwide, and is highly associated with alcohol, smoking, cultural ha...

Epigenetic silencing of HIC1 promotes epithelial-mesenchymal transition and drives progression in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Downregulation of the novel tumor suppressor gene HIC1 (hypermethylated in cancer 1) occurs frequently in various tumors where it causes tumor progression and metastasis. In this study, we investigated a role of HIC1 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and the underlying mechanisms. Downregulation of HIC1 occurred in approximately 70% of primary ESCCs at both mRNA and protein level whe...

Linc-ROR promotes esophageal squamous cell carcinoma progression through the derepression of SOX9

BACKGROUND Novel therapies tailored to the molecular composition of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) are needed to improve patient survival. We investigated the regulatory network of long intergenic non-protein coding RNA, regulator of reprogramming (linc-ROR) and sex-determining region Y-box 9 (SOX9), and their therapeutic relevance in ESCC. METHODS Linc-ROR and SOX9 expression were...
